About Me
My name is Carolina, and I live in the United States since 2005. I have always had a passion for painting, exploring various mediums such as oil and acrylic on canvas. Since 2021, I have been dedicated to mastering watercolor painting, continuously improving my talent and skills through in-person and online courses with different classes from international authors.
My artistic journey is fueled by my interest in recreating captivating subjects with watercolor. I specialize in painting florals, foliage, birds, seascapes, and landscapes. Watercolor, with its transparency, fluidity, and luminosity, offers a unique and beautiful way to express my creativity.
Throughout my learning process, I have embraced various techniques, including wet-on-wet, dry-brush, and glazing, to bring my artwork to life. My paintings highlight the delicate balance between the medium's transparency and the intricate details of my subjects. Watercolor painting requires patience, practice, and a deep understanding of color theory, composition, and the properties of water and paper. I find joy in experimenting with different materials, such as inks, colored pencils, and magazine clippings, to create unique effects in my illustrations. The unpredictability of watercolor often leads to unexpected and fascinating results, making the creative process even more exciting.
For me, watercolor painting is not just a hobby; it is a way to connect with the natural world. You can usually find me in my studio, immersed in my watercolor projects. When I'm not painting, I enjoy training, walking, cooking and exploring new recipes, shopping, reading, traveling, and spending quality time with my husband, assisting him with his scientific work or simply enjoying our conversations.
